Gas prices have surprised everyone in the last two weeks. It is very cheap indeed. But the most remarkable thing is the share of RES in the energy mix in Poland. By the end of the year, we forecast that wind energy will account for more than 40% of Poland’s energy system. Due to the high share of RES in the system, energy prices have fallen to 500 PLN/MWh, but the forward contract for January already costs more than 930 PLN/MWh.

In the next post, we will discuss what will be the energy prices if we reach 45% share of RES in the power system? Stay tuned!
